Who we are

ExperimentIQ is a trading name of Ekanem Ekanem, based in the United Kingdom.

Our postal address is 61 Bridge Street, Kington, HR5 3DJ, United Kingdom.

We are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office, registration number ZC226479.

If you have any questions about your data, email hello@experimentiq.co.uk.

We are the data controller for the information described below.

What we collect and why

Your account. When you sign in with Google we receive your name and email address. We use this to create your account, to know which experiments are yours, and to contact you about the service. Our lawful basis is contract: we need this to give you the service you signed up for.

Your experiments. The goal, variables, notes, run sheets and results you enter. We store these so you can come back to them, and we use them to generate your designs. Our lawful basis is contract.

Payment details. If you subscribe, Stripe handles your card. We never see or store your card number. We keep a record that you have a subscription and when it renews. Our lawful basis is contract, and legal obligation for keeping payment records.

Emails we send you. We email you your run sheet when you ask us to, and we remind you if an experiment has runs but no results. These are part of the service, not marketing. Our lawful basis is contract. We do not send marketing emails.

Basic security and error information. Technical logs that help us keep the service working and spot abuse. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests, specifically keeping the service running and secure.

How your experiment text is used

To work out which design fits your experiment, we send the text you enter, meaning your goal, your variables, your notes and your response, to an AI model. This is Google's Gemini model, accessed through the Lovable AI Gateway. We do not send your name or email with it.

Please do not enter anything you are not comfortable sharing with a third-party AI provider.

Who else touches your data

  • Lovable hosts the application and provides the database and the AI gateway.
  • Supabase provides the database where your experiments are stored.
  • Google provides sign-in and the AI model that generates your designs.
  • Stripe processes payments.
  • Resend sends the emails.
  • n8n runs the automated reminder that emails you about experiments with no results yet.

Each of these is a company we have chosen to help run the service. Your experiments are stored in Europe (Ireland). Some of these providers store or process data outside the UK and the EU, including in the United States. Where that happens, transfers are covered by the standard legal protections those providers put in place.

How long we keep it

Your account and experiments are kept for as long as your account is open. If you delete your account, your experiments, run sheets and results are deleted with it.

Payment records are kept for six years, because UK tax law requires it.

Emails we have sent you may sit in our email provider's logs for a short period, typically no more than 30 days.

Your rights

You can ask us to show you the data we hold about you, correct anything that is wrong, give you a copy you can take elsewhere, delete your data, or stop using it in a particular way.

You can export your experiments yourself at any time from your account settings, and you can delete your account there too.

For anything else, email hello@experimentiq.co.uk. We will reply within one month.

If you are not happy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, or to your local data protection authority if you are in the EU.

Children

ExperimentIQ is for professional and academic researchers and is not intended for anyone under 18.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. If the change is significant we will email you.
